It sounds too good to be true...
It's Running Goals Head Coach Matt's High Performance Training Group based just outside of Chester, UK. It's the chance to jump in with Matt's own 1500m-10k workouts..

It follows an expertly scaled version of the Norwegian Training Method of Threshold training which has seen Matt PB in every event from 1500m - 10k in the past 3 years.
A 'Crew' allows a collection of athletes from lots of different clubs to train together to improve.

No - it's not affiliated to England Athletics

Yes - please stay affiliated to your current club

Yes - stay with your current coach for guidance
If you'd like to join in, ask your coach if it fits in.

FREE - as there is no formal coaching.
Running Goals is a professional coaching company that delivers coaching that is specific to each individual and caters for all abilities (BHTC does neither).

Yes - Running Goals can adapt these sessions so you can join in with us. But as your coach, the priority always has to be what's best for your training and performance
(as opposed to what's best for Coach Matt's BHTC).

Yes - the sessions follow the same structure every week based on the Norwegian Method of Threshold Training.

Yes - There is more variety in the summer months,
with greater emphasis on speed sessions at
1500m pace and 3k-5k pace.

Yes - but as this pace will be your 5k pace or faster, your rep lengths will be shorter and your rests longer. This will be speed (not threshold) training for you.

It depends - If this is your 3k-5k pace, many athletes will only do this 1x p/week. If it's your 800m-1500m pace, then many athletes do 2x speed sessions p/week.
The majority of sessions will be on the track at
Ellesmere Port Sports Village or in Backford, Chester.

Circa £6 PAYG or £15 per month via Brio's Track Only Membership

'The Catch' - is you're helping Running Goals Coach Matt with his Threshold Training approach, as opposed to receiving coaching & workouts designed just for you.
You're joining in with Matt's workouts, at his pace, at his time & location - meaning that sometimes you may not be doing workouts that are perfect for you (or at ideal times of day). However if you've ever been in a regular club training group before, this is often the case already.
